Life as a painter in the Highlands of Scotland.
In 2012 my aunt, Mary Raven, died aged 100. I was an executor and she generously left a specific bequest as payment to her executors. To honour her memory I decided to do something I would not otherwise be able to do. I went with Rabley Drawing Centre to Rajasthan. It seemed appropriate, as my aunt lived in Marlborough, the town near Rabley. We saw some amazing things but were so continuously on the move we were never anywhere long enough to really engage and make serious work. My decision was to make concertina sketchbooks which I then bound and finished after my return and this remains a legacy of Aunt Marys generosity.
